A notice explaining how to change your Flash player settings will be shown on the upper portion of the video player. This notice is geared towards users who receive the message: "Unable to write to local memory."
Double check the info below before proceeding.
Steps vary based on browser version.
Click the link below once you have finished deleting your temporary files and history.
Open a random video.
[1] Right click on the video player to open the menu.
Select Settings from the menu, and look for [2] Adobe Flash Player Settings.
Select the "Proceed to local settings." (see below)
Check your browser and close all unnecessary browser windows (except the two below)
to make sure Adobe Flash Player settings are saved properly.

Once you have completed the above click the "To Browser Check." (see below)If the following window is open from position [2] in the beginning,
select "Next." (see below)

See/edit local storage settings.
Open the [1] folder listed as "local environment" from the tabs at the bottom.
Once you successfully open the local storage, [2] use the slider to set "res.nimg.jp (or www.nicovideo.jp) data saved to computer to "unrestricted". If [3] Do not show this again is checked then the slider will be disabled.
Click "Proceed To Check Player Display"
Check your browser and close all unnecessary browser windows (except the two below)
to make sure Adobe Flash Player settings are saved properly.

Once you have completed the above click the "Website Local Settings." (see below)Edit local environment settings
A message stating "res.nimg.jp / www.nicovideo.jp is requesting permission to save files locally to your computer" will appear. Click Allow at the bottom of the window.
Select "Proceed to check Player Display" from the bottom of the page.
Check your browser and close all unnecessary browser windows (except the two below)
to make sure Adobe Flash Player settings are saved properly.

Once you have completed the above click the "Website Local Settings." (see below)Refresh the video watch page and check that the "Unable to write to local storage." message is no longer displayed.

Please open Adobe Flash Player settings manager - Web site local settings (a separate page will open).
[2] Use the slider to set it to not restrict maximum.
Make sure the slider is unchecked so you can use it.
In a similar manner, select res.nimg.jp and set it to not restrict.
When finished, proceed to the next page.

Refresh the video watch page and check that the "Unable to write to local storage." message is no longer displayed.

Uninstall your current Flash Player and install the latest version.
Once re-installation is complete logout > restart your computer > and login.
Then check to see that
the "Unable to write to local storage." message is no longer displayed.
