The play button appears when the video is ready.
Clicking the play button starts the video. (Portion enclosed in red above)
A loading animation will appear to the lower-left of the video player while the video is loading.
Premium Members can enable automatic playback of videos. This can be
configured by enabling the option "Enable video auto-start" in your
Video Player Help.
Video playback for Free Members is downgraded to Economy Mode (low picture quality) during peak access hours.
The following options are available:
Enter a comment into the comment field below the player and click Comment to post it.
Click the command input form and the comment color/placement box (Customization Window) will appear.
Click a setting and it will be applied automatically.
Customization commands can also be entered directly. (See chart below)
Entering spaces between commands allows you to execute more than one simultaneously.*1
*1: Shita big red will put a large red comment at the bottom of the video.
*2: Red, blue, cyan, and green will affect big reds.
*3: You can also enter 6-digit hexadecimal color codes directly as well. (i.e., #993366)
You can add tags for
Niconico videos or creations.
These tags can be used to categorize contents.
Tags appear above the
video player or creation.
Performing a search via tags allows you to find creations with that specific tag.
■Edit Tags
Tags are displayed above
the video below the title.
Click Edit in the grey box to the left side of the tags.
Enter your tags, click add, and then click Finish Editing when you are done.
Note that tags are 1-word only. Adding a space will create 2 tags.
■Remove Tags
When you click the Edit
button, a red X will display next to the tags that are removable.
If you see a tag that doesn't fit the video, be sure to remove it and add
something better! Click those
■Lock Tags
Icons that cannot be
removed will have an icon showing that they are locked.
The uploader can set up to 4 tags that cannot be edited when they upload their
video.
■Category Tags
A folder icon will
display for tags in specified categories.
Category specific tags will need to be locked beforehand.
The tag will remain locked even after the category is deleted.
The Playlist is displayed below the video player. Click the buttons
located to the left and right of the Playlist to scroll through videos.
Videos clicked on your Playlist will play without transitioning to a different page.
The type of video currently shown in your playlist is displayed on the upper-left corner of the playlist.
This can be set with the button on the upper-left of the playlist.
You can toggle between normal playback and autoplay with the button
located on the left. Click the button located on the right to shuffle
the order of videos played in your playlist.
Drag and drop video thumbnails in your Playlist to change the playback order.
Note that changing this order won't change the order of your My List!
You can remove videos from your Playlist by clicking and dragging the video thumbnail to the "Drag thumbnail here to delete video from your Playlist" area below your Playlist.
A video's description, view count, and other related information can be found on the video page. Video uploaders will have the options "Video information/ Edit comments" displayed on their screens.
Video info is always displayed at the top of the page (below the video title). Click "Show more" to display all of the video info at the top of the page.
Video info will remain on screen unless the "Show less" button is pressed.
Click this to favorite an uploader.
Favoriting users allows you to receive notices on your My Page whenever they upload new videos.
* You can view an uploader's other videos on the video selection screen.
* Click the My List ID in the video description to add it to your video list.
The uploader menu only displays on the watch pages of videos you upload.
Uploader features for videos can be accessed via the uploader video menu,
located under the video header.

Video titles, details, and release settings can be changed.
・Uploader Comments
Comments made by the uploader will always be visible (meaning they
will not
drift across the screen).
We recommend using these for lyrics, subtitles, or other important messages.
■Remove comment(s)・Report

You can show or hide comments that have been uploaded.
(note that data is not deleted)
You can also re-show comments that have been made hidden.
・Report comment(s)
This feature is for reporting abusive comments.
Reports received will be reviewed in order of arrival. Comments deemed to be in violation will be deleted or the user responsible will be penalized.

The Content Tree is a feature that allows users to manage and view
secondary
works inspired by their original.
The original (parent work) will be displayed at the top of a tree with the works made from it underneath.
Original works registered in the Creator Encouragement Program can even qualify for royalties!

・What is the Creator Encouragement Program?
It is a system that pays subsidies to those who post items on Niconico.
The goal is to support and encourage the creation of new works based
on other's original content.
Comments posted by viewers. Regular comments are displayed when set to default.
Although the conditions for these comments are the same as NicoScript Comments, they are cleared (erased) upon leaving the video page.
Unique comments only available to video uploaders.
Comments corresponding to NicoScript conditions set by video uploaders.
Comments made by participants on community videos.
Comments made by participants on Channel Videos.
Specify and load past comments by date. (Within video upload date and current date) Click the icon again to switch back to the current comments.

The Video Selection Menu is displayed by clicking the "Watch More"
button located below the Play List.
This menu allows you to search for
other videos and edit your Playlist while you watch videos.
The Video Selection Menu features 4 menu selections: Search, Top Picks, Uploader Name, and Your Account Name.
See all the results for your search.
This will display recommendations in order of relevance.
This will display the current video uploader's videos and their (public) My Lists.
This displays your account's uploaded videos and My Lists.
Your My Lists will be displayed regardless of your privacy settings.
If you click a My List ID within the video description located on the video, the nickname of the user who created the My List will be displayed on the menu.
Clicking the TV-Chan button on the right side of the video watch page displays various options.
1. SNS
Use Twitter or Facebook to share videos you're currently watching.
2. Recommend Video
Use this feature and your recommended video might just appear in the "User Recommended Videos" on the top page.
3. Save My Memory
This feature saves comments posted on the video you are watching. Saved My Memory can be checked from your My List menu on your My page.
4. Advertise
Use your Nico Points to make video ads.
5. My List
Save videos
to your My Lists by clicking the My List button.
A new window will appear. Choose your My List (or Create New Folder...), enter
the My List details and a comment if you wish, and click Add to My List.
6. Quicklist
Click the
Quicklist button to add your current video to your current playlist. You can
also see your Quicklist videos on your My Page (by clicking your user name at
the top of your screen).
Free Members can add up to 100 items to their Quicklist while Premium Members
can add up to 500! If you exceed your account type limit, older items will be
removed.
